The Riverton Light Gallery is located in the main street of Riverton. It is both a sculpture studio and gallery space where Robert Hannaford and his wife, artist Alison Mitchell, exhibit their paintings, drawings and sculptures.
Exhibitions are held in the three front rooms and change every few months. Whilst these exhibitions range in subject and scope, the main emphasis is on art created from ‘life’- depictions in tone and light. Both artists work directly from life.
Iconic sculptures, such as ‘Mo’- Roy Rene, now residing in Hindley Street, Adelaide; “Simpson and his Donkey’ situated in Adelaide’s Memorial Gardens and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander War Memorial on Torrens Parade Grounds, have been created in the rear of the building.
