RIVERTON COMMUNITY GARDEN
Previously known as Jingles Garden, The Riverton Community Garden is at the Northern end of Railway Tce, turn left at the end of Mill St.
We grow many veges organically and have about 2 dozen fruit trees. It looks like a bonanza year this year for fruit! We share the spoils of our labours and those unable to have input can make a gold coin donation for any excess. We have a few potted plants for sale and every year we sell Chrysanthemums on mother’s day to cover our running expenses.
We meet regularly every Tuesday morning at 8:00 till around midday, weather permitting.
Meals on Wheels is a not-for-profit, community-based volunteer organization, assisting many people in the community to live independently in their own homes by delivering hot, delicious, nutritious 3 course meals on week-days and frozen meals for weekends, public holiday and other times when clients may be away from home. Our clients include those who cannot cook or shop for themselves with ease, such as older people, people with a disability, carers or those recovering from an illness or injury.
Volunteering for Meals on Wheels doesn’t require a big commitment, and the rewards are high.
If you can spare any time at all to help in this very worthwhile community service, please contact:
