Subs of $115.00 are now due. It will help your club if you pay your Subs ASAP. If you wish to pay by instalments please contact John Glistak ASAP. Due to increased costs Afternoon tea this season will be $5.00
Selected teams for the first round will be posted on the notice board by the end of September. For those members who have and use the Internet the teams will also be put onto the Riverton Community website each week, along with the season program and newsletters. (See details below)
Selectors
This year Committee members will select the teams for the first round. This should not stop the selectors from making any changes that suit their needs on the make up of future teams.
All teams will need to pick 2 people to take on the role of selectors for the coming season. The Committee urges all members to consider taking on this role. The choosing of selectors will need to happen before or immediately after the first round on 9th October.
The ‘Unavailable Dates Calender’ will be on the Club Notice board before the first round. Please assist the selectors by putting your names down when unavailable as soon as you can.
Official Club Practice will be held every Thursday afternoon starting at 5.30pm. Hoges has offered his services and knowledge on different training drills designed to help all members improve their bowls. The Clubrooms and bar will be open for drinks and socialising after practice. It has been a long time between Div 1 premierships, so lets all get together to practice, improve, advance and add to the Div 2 teams recent successes.
Wishing all an enjoyable & successful season.
Phil Gates (President)
Ladies News
Welcome ladies to a new season of bowls.
We have been fortunate in retaining the 25 members from last season and we welcome Helen Lange, as a new member, to our club.
The 3 teams will remain mostly the same as last season with a few changes due to illness and unavailability, so please check the teams on the notice board every week at least until the Christmas break when hopefully the teams will settle down.
The ladies new tops have been ordered, so hopefully we will look as smart as the men.
There are only 9 clubs in our Association this season as Hallett and Watervale are unable to field teams. Our first Pennant game is on Thursday 7th October with
Riverton Blue vs Riverton Green
Riverton Black vs Mintaro
The Association Open Day will be held at Booborowie on Thursday Sept 30th starting at 1.30pm. Anyone wishing to go should contact either Marg Arnold or Ann Harrip.
A big THANK YOU to all who helped or contributed to making the 2 functions held in June sch a big success. Also thanks to those that helped at the Hooper funeral function.
Please don’t forget the Clubhouse cleaning day on Tuesday 28th Sept at 10.30am.
Cheers Marg Arnold
